What do you have the hardest time accepting?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 17, 2009:
That people´s level of understanding differs,
that everybody can´t understand the same.
That humanity keeps repeating right wing extremism; fascism.
Can we never grow beyond that shit?
Violence and cruelty in general.
Especially towards children and animals.
Intolerance.
Inequality.
Is more unfair than I can bare.
Racism, sexism, Religions´ view on nonbelievers as lesser beings...homoism...
(homofobia sounds like it´s an illness, poor intolerant person)!
... These are all expressions of fascism,
of the belief that some people are worth more than others are.
I can never accept it. Never.
I´m intolerant towards intolerance.
that everybody can´t understand the same.

One of the things I find humorous about the human experience is that we tend to reflect what is within. For instance, you stated you are intolerant towards intolerance. The very resistance you are experiencing adds to the energy you want to see dissipate.
The only reason I can recognize this is in your post is that I have recognized it in myself. You are my mirror, as I am yours. “They” are our mirrors, too.
Along those same lines, it amazes me that the very energy we resist in certain forms, we continue to perpetuate in others. For example, someone will say, “Don’t judge me for ‘whatever’,” and will fail to see that they are judging others in some area or other.
And the same people who are against religious zealotry will apply that same fanatical energy to say, environmental issues. I’m not talking about passion here. I’m talking about fanaticism. I told a friend yesterday that for some people, green is the new fundamentalism.
The point I am making is that, as Gandhi said, we must be the change we wish to see in the world. We can’t make people stop being intolerant, but we can clear the intolerance in ourselves, and everything that heals in us contributes to the healing of the whole.
At least, that’s the way I see it. But what do I know?
I do agree with you.
But.
I can´t just work on my inner tolerance
and ignore others´suffering.
Be the change, sure. But there is a need for speaking up against.
I´m actually not a follower of zero tolerance - politcs.
Maybe I´m not intolerant to intolerance.
I feel compassion for humanity´s fearfulness.
And accept that the dark must be in order for there to be light.
But.
It is… sad. And deeply upsetting, to me, that people can treat others as
less worthy than themselves. I can understand how they come to think that way, I can empathize with them, even. But I can not detach and let fascism grow without speaking up against it.
This is what I mean by not accepting intolerance.
Please reply if you have more thoughts, this is a very interesting discussion.
Let´s keep mirroring!

Whatever energy you put out is what you are contributing to, and also what you are attracting more of.
Mother Theresa declined to participate in any anti-war rally. She was willing to participate in any peace rally, though.
She refused to contribute to “anti” energy, but she was more than willing to contribute to “pro” energy. That’s what I’m talking about.
It’s all a matter of perspective.
Have a blissed day!
